Wet Dust Collector for Acidic and Alkaline Dust 1. Acidic and alkaline dust can be corrosive. When a dry dust collector is used, the materials of components exposed to the contaminated air must be selected according to the corrosiveness of the process, which may increase equipment cost. 2. In suitable applications, a wet dust collector can capture dust while the circulating water helps absorb or dilute water-soluble acidic or alkaline contaminants. A chemical dosing system can also be added when pH adjustment or neutralization is required. 3. Wet dust collectors are particularly suitable for dust that is water-soluble, readily wetted, or can be separated from the circulating water by settling or filtration. 4. If lightweight particles remain floating on the water surface instead of settling, a floating residue removal system and an external water filtration unit can be added. The separated water can then be returned to the circulating water tank.
